The team at Generator Ratings searched across the product range from the leading generator brands to find the best quality silent home generator appliances. Here is the Buyers’ Guide our team compiled, including their reviews of the units.
Silence is subjective. What constitutes annoying noise for any one person may barely be noticed by someone else. It’s also fair to say that a 100pc silent home generator does not exist, give the power that the units much generate in order to provide backup for when your mains electricity shuts down during an emergency, or in situations where you have no access to mains power.
But when people speak of finding a silent home generator, what they actually mean is that they are looking for the quietest unit possible. Admittedly, these are most likely to be the portable appliances, but we deal with those elsewhere on this site on a post devoted to the most silent portable generator units.
When you step up a gear from portable, what is available in terms of silent home generator units or systems that are going to be so quiet as to not intrude on you or, indeed, your neighbours?
